Apple cider vinegar has been used within the home for hundreds of years. The benefits of this wonder product for the body are ongoing, and it features in countless home remedies for the treatment of a wide range of health related conditions. Recently, it has been used for a number of beauty issues, too, especially for the skin and hair. This article will reveal how you can use apple cider vinegar for beautiful hair, including how to make an apple cider vinegar hair rinse for cleaning, conditioning and bringing hair back to life. Apple cider vinegar comes about from the fermentation process of fresh organic raw apples. The natural sugars in the apples are broken down by yeasts and bacteria into alcohol. After forgoing further fermentation, this alcohol is then turned into apple cider vinegar. Acetic acid is the prominent active ingredient found in apple cider and it is because of this high level of acidity that apple cider vinegar is so beneficial for hair. By rinsing hair using ACV it will help maintain the pH balance as well as removing excess build-up of dirt and impurities caused by the use of styling products and chemical-laden shampoos. By removing these impurities along with dead skin cells it unclogs the hair follicles resulting in healthy hair growth. With regular use of apple cider vinegar it will smooth out the hair shaft leaving your hair soft, shiny, and easy to manage. Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse Recipe- 1/3 of a cup of ACV
- 1 litre of water
An effective way to enhance the conditioning properties of apple cider vinegar is to mix in a small amount of various types of essential oils.
Simply add 5 drops of your chosen essential oil to 1 cup of apple cider vinegar. Use 1 tablespoon of the mixture and add to 1 cup of warm water. Shampoo your hair, apply mixture and rinse.
Recommended essential oils that will further enhance apple cider vinegar include lavender, lemon, sage and rose.
Apple Cider Vinegar For Dandruff and Itchy Scalp
Apple cider vinegar contains enzymes and acids which ultimately kill the bacteria that are responsible for a number of hair and scalp conditions such as itchy scalp, dandruff, baldness, and hair loss. These harmful bacteria clog up hair follicles resulting in the formation of dry crusts that flake and itch.
When used regularly this treatment will help minimise dandruff as well as prevent baldness and thinning of the hair. This apple cider mixture will help stimulate hair follicles thus promoting healthy hair growth.
- 2-3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
- 1 cups of warm water
