How & Why You Should Use Grape Seed Oil For Your Hair

grape seed oil for hair

Like many other natural ingredients grape seed oil features a number of beneficial qualities for overall beauty and health. Because of its rich source of antioxidants and vitamins it only makes sense that we utilise this wonder product within our cosmetic and hair care regime.

Grape seed oil contains powerful moisturizing properties which deem to be very effective when used on the hair and scalp; it has the ability to transform our hair like no other hair treatment system. This particular oil is considerably lighter and less greasy than its rivals such as olive oil, and because of its lightweight composition it is easily absorbed into the hair and skin without weighing it down and eliminating volume. Grape seed oil is suitable for use with any hair type and because it contains non-allergenic qualities it is ideal for those who have sensitive skin. It is a clear substance and is almost completely odourless, making it the perfect partner for use with natural shampoos and conditioners.

Because of the moisturizing and rejuvenating properties of grape seed oil it has become a very common ingredient in a wide range of hair care products, it maintains the moisture in hair and therefore prevents split ends and breakage experienced with dry and weakened hair. Sufferers of frizzy and unruly hair will benefit from the use of this oil as it has the ability to lock in moisture and keep hair cuticles smooth while strengthening each strand. Grape seed oil contains heat resistant properties for temperatures up to 450ºF making it an essential treatment for those who regularly use hair dryers and straighteners.

Dermatologists have studied the use of grape seed oil to treat hair loss and promote hair growth. These studies have proven that because of the existence of vitamin E and linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid, grape seed oil can stimulate hair growth and help to strengthen the hair.

Dandruff is caused by a build up of dry skin which in turn results in flaking of the skin; the main contributing factor of dandruff is a dry scalp. This is where grape seed oil comes in. It coats the hair with nutrients and essential minerals while replenishing lost moisture in the scalp. For more effective results try massaging the scalp with grape seed oil as this will help to loosen the dry skin while improving blood circulation.
