You’ve seen them…

A few extra laugh lines, the dry skin around your mouth and eyes. Aging is definitely not for the faint of heart. If the danger of surgery and the high cost of commercial anti-aging products have you discouraged, you’re not alone. Thankfully, there are alternatives. Discover these affordable natural beauty alternatives and how you can look younger for less.

Cheap Natural Exfoliant – Sea Salt

As skin grows and develops, skin cells age and die. Without proper exfoliation, these dead skin cells sit on the surface of your face and make skin look dull and parched. Instead of reaching for an expensive exfoliant, try sea salt. Also, sea salt contains magnesium, zinc, iodine and calcium, making it a great anti-inflammatory choice for problem skin.

To use: Put 3 tablespoons of coarse sea salt in a mixing bowl and add twice the amount of water. Moisten your face with water and apply the mixture. Using circular motions, gently rub the mixture into your skin, paying extra attention to the dry spots. Let the salt sit on your face for 3-5 more minutes, then rinse. Follow with a cold water splash to tighten pores and a little pure olive oil to lock in moisture.

Remember to use sea salt, never table salt.

Inexpensive Natural Antiseptic – Tea Tree Oil

If you’re one of millions of mature women still battling acne along with crow’s feet, you’re not alone. Tea tree oil to the rescue! This natural alternative to more expensive products is a powerful antiviral, antifungal and anti-inflammatory. This means clear, clean, healthy skin that glows with locked-in moisture.

Cheap Natural Tooth Whitening – Baking Soda

A white smile takes years off your face but whitening trays are toothpastes are not only expensive, they’ve been shown to cause tooth and gum pain in sensitive individuals. Want white teeth the natural way? Find a small clean jar with a lid. Mix a couple of tablespoons of baking soda with a splash of hydrogen peroxide. Add a couple of drops of clove oil and you’ve got a natural anti-bacterial whitening toothpaste that will make your teeth sparkle with health and vitality.

Inexpensive Natural Facial – Honey

When your skin is dry and tight, it can add years to your face. Honey is a great natural moisturizer and its antioxidant and antimicrobial properties protect skin from sun damage.

Here’s a simple honey homemade mask recipe: You’ll need one raw egg, 2 tablespoons of organic honey, a splash of milk and 1 tsp of olive oil. Over a small bowl, separate the yolk from the whites. For oily skin, use the egg yolk, for dry skin, use the egg white. Mix the egg with the honey and mix. Add the olive oil and a tiny bit of milk. Apply to face and let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Money-Saving Natural Dark Circle Relief – Green Tea

Dark under eye circles could be the result of too little sleep, allergies or heredity. Instead of piling on the expensive product, challenge that with some natural caffeinated green tea bags.
