Lavender Lemonade from ThymeWisper.org

I came across this lavender lemonade recipe a few days ago and instantly wanted to try it. I think it was the beautiful pink color that drew me to it – but the health benefits of lavender were also a major attraction.

Lavender has a huge array of health benefits. It helps to get rid of migraines, dizziness and digestive disorders. It promotes natural sleep and eases insomnia, and it can be used as an antiseptic and disinfectant to heal wounds.

One of the other major ingredients is lemon. I’m sure you are very aware of the power of lemons for bossting health – but this fruit is more than just a rich source of Vitamin C.

Lemons contain compounds called limonoids that have been identified to assist in fighting cancers of the mouth, skin, lung, breast, stomach and colon. Lemon is a powerful little fruit and you can get a great does from this lavender lemonade drink.

I’ll try this lavender lemonade but will use a raw honey/stevia blend instead of agave. Agave’s fructose profile just isn’t good for the body.
One of my favorite health drinks is an all-fruit smoothie and we’ve got the explanation why it shouldn’t contain protein ingredients at this blog: http://skinofgold.com/vibrant-skin-and-smoothies
