A simple home remedy to achieve soft, long, thick eyelashes is by giving them a nightly bath of olive oil. Take the wand of an empty mascara (you won’t be wanting to use your current mascara wand for this) or a Q-tip and do the following every night before you go to bed:

Clean your eye area so there is no makeup residue on your eyelashes. Dip a Q-tip into olive oil blotting of any excess with a tissue. Run it along your lash lines, taking care not to get any oil in your eyes. Then pass it down the length of your lashes on each eye.

If you are using a mascara wand, simply dip it into the oil, again blotting off any excess, and apply as you would regular mascara. If you get any oil in your eye rinse with abundant water.

If you do this nightly for around two weeks, you will see a remarkable difference in the difference in the softness, thickness and length of your eyelashes.

Note: When possible, always buy cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil. Regular oil that has been produced using mechanical processes has been heated – a process that destroys many of the oil’s natural properties.

How To Get Smooth Skin Naturally

Cucumbers and lemons are two fruits that are well-known for their ability to sooth and cool the skin, and in the case of lemons to help create a more even skin tone. But did you know that apples also have amazing skin-smoothing properties?

Take an apple, and quarter it, also removing the core. Add a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice and a pinch of dried herbs. Chamomile, parsley, spearmint or peppermint will do fine.

Add the ingredients to a little water, and boil. When the apple is soft enough, mash it into the water then pass the mixture through a strainer.

Apply the strained liquid to your face or body. Leave it to dry and later rinse with warm water.

The result?

Your skin will feel silky smooth and the small lines will be reduced. Repeat the procedure twice weekly for optimal results.
